HRY SPACE Talk: "Artist Talk with Miggy Buck, Dominic Chambers, Jessica Dickinson"


On June 27th from 6:30-8:30 pm, HRY SPACE in collaboration with SIMPL MAG will be hosting HRY SPACE Talk under the theme:

"Artist Talk with Miggy Buck, Dominic Chambers, Jessica Dickinson"

Food & drinks will be provided at the event reception, the talk starts at 6:30 pm sharp.

HRY SPACE Talk is an integral programming of HRY SPACE, for which we bring industry leading individuals together in a room filled with artworks from a generation of artists that are radically reshaping the contemporary art scene, hearing them share their experiences and ideas on their own works, and how we collectively move forward to drive positive impact for millennial culture worldwide.

Dominic Chambers (@chambersdominic)

Dominic Chambers is a contemporary painter, who focused on the literary narratives from mythologies and African-American history. Dominic was born in St.Louise and now has lived and worked in New Haven. He received an MFA from Yale University School of Art in 2019 and BFA from Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.

Recent solo exhibitions include ‘The Millitzer Studio and Gallery’, St.Louise and ‘The Residential Gallery’, Des Moines in 2017. Various group exhibitions include Portrait Society Gallery, Milwaukee, Arts+Literature Lab, Madison, John Fonda Gallery, Baltimore, The Pitch Project Gallery, Milwaukee, MIAD Contemporary Gallery, Milwaukee, NYSRP Gallery, Brooklyn, and many others.

Dominic’s works are included as the collection of St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley, Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, Leah Kolb, and Linda Vredeveld.

Jessica Dickinson

Jessica Dickinson is a painter, who focused on dealing with the sensate and slow exchanging between perception, matter, and psychology through her paintings. Jessica was born in St. Paul, MN and has lived and worked in Brooklyn, New York since 1999. She received an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1999 and BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in 1997. Her works are represented by James Fuentes in New York and Altman Siegel Gallery in San Francisco.

Recent solo exhibitions include ‘James Fuentes’, New York, (2017, 2015), ‘Altman Siegel Gallery’, San Francisco (2016, 2013), ‘David Petersen Gallery’, Minneapolis (2013); Maisterravalbuena, Madrid (2012); and James Fuentes, NY (2011, 2009).

Numerous group exhibitions include American University Art Museum, Washington D.C., Gladstone Gallery, New York; The Warehouse, Dallas; Eleni Koroneou Gallery, Athens; BiennaleOnline2013, selected by Nancy Spector; Painting in the 2.5th Dimension at The Zabludowicz Collection, London; Come Through at Sikkema Jenkins, NY; and Besides, With, Against, and Yet: Abstraction and The Ready-Made Gesture at The Kitchen, NY, curated by Debra Singer.

Public collections include The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, and The Rachofsky Collection, Dallas, TX.

Dickinson has taught extensively, most recently at Cooper Union School of Art, Columbia University School of The Arts, and Yale University School of Art.

Miggy Buck (@miggybuck)

Miggy Buck is a sculptor, who focused on physicality that sculpture distinctly has with her interest in the uncanny, irony, and the inherent language of materials. Miggy received the MFA degree from Columbia University in 1996 and BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 1991. She has taught Parsons the New School for Design since 2002 as an assistant professor.

Recent solo exhibitions include GAIA GALLERY, New York in 2015 and 2016, and Gesundheit, Chelsea, New York in 2014. Various group exhibitions include LOUVE, Paris, GREY MATTER MUSEUM. Costa Mesa, ADELPHI UNIVERSITY, GEORGE ADAMS GALLERY, CLAIRE OLIVER GALLERY, and many others. And she did various kinds of public installation since 1994.
